The Fiesole School of Music has changed my way of experiencing music, not only because it has enriched my artistic training, but above all, because it has handed down to me Piero Farulli’s great ethical and cultural message: considering music a gift to share with others and for others. When I started teaching, I felt the need to pay this gift forward by creating something beautiful. Thus the “Acri Music Camp” was born in my Calabria seven years ago: an intense summer camp, with masterclasses, concerts, workshops and courses even for the little ones — all in a special atmosphere where, in addition to individual lessons, chamber music is given ample space. Music, therefore, becomes an important vehicle for social integration: young people learn to dialogue by making music together, listening to each other in mutual respect. In line with the principles expressed by Piero Farulli, I can only dedicate the 2020 edition of the Acri Music Camp to him. Angelo Arciglione
