On January 13, 2020, a concert dedicated to Piero Farulli entitled “Il Giardino delle Viole” will be held in Venice at the Concert Hall of the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory in Venice. As many “Fiesolans” know, “Il Giardino delle Viole” is the title of a piece for eight violas by Virgilio Mortari, which had its premiere at the Fiesole School of Music in the presence of the composer himself. The concert be dedicated to music for Viola and in addition to the “Giardino” will include music by Telemann, Hindemith, and Reger. The performers will be the students of my class and other young and no-longer-young violists. This is my tribute to the great legacy left to me by my Maestro Piero Farulli. Giancarlo di Vacri
